Greetings Windjammers,

Commodore Sue Sinor and Vice Commodore Joe Revak are preparing for the Randall Memorial race on the weekend after Labor Day. Click for Race Instructions and details. A combination pot luck supper and cocktail party will be held the evening of Friday, 10 September, at the outdoor picnic shelter of the Maryland Yacht Club on Rock Creek. The shelter has sides and a roof, so don't be discouraged by weather. The race and the dinner (also at MYC) will be the following day and evening. Good breezes have been ordered for the race, so sign up, bring your boat, and enjoy the fun. Maybe you will go home with a trophy.

Join us and bring candidate new members to the race and dinner to introduce them to the joys of our winter program. This is an opportunity to get some good publicity for our great organization. Membership application forms will be available as well as information on this year's schedule.

The combined pot luck supper and cocktail party will be held at 1900 hours Friday 10 September, 2004, at the Pavilion at Maryland Yacht Club. Members whose last names begin with A-L , please bring an entrée: members M-Z, please bring appetizers, sides or dessert. Please let R/C Drew Fleming know you are coming and what you will bring so we don't have too much of one thing. The Annual Cruise Dinner will be held in the Maryland Yacht Club dining room. Race results with a Cash bar at the Club House from 1800 on September 11, 2004. Dinner will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday evening September 11 at a cost of $30 per person. Dinner will include salad, entrée, dessert, tea and coffee. The entrée choices are STUFFED FLOUNDER or PRIME RIB.

Reservation Forms for the race and the dinner are provided in a .pdf file format. Please print out and return the completed form with payment to the address listed before September 1, 2004, so we can provide final numbers to the MYC.

Directions by car and boat, along with dockage requirements at the MYC are also attached.

Please remember that orderly children of members are welcome at the lectures without tickets to encourage young family membership, obviate babysitting problems, and build appreciation of sailing and the Chesapeake. Children are also welcome at the Cruise Weekend activities.

Sincerely, Jan Borchardt, Secretary
